Homegrown

Now that the weather is taking a turn for the better, it's time to start getting excited about a summer garden.
Once Mother's day rolls around and you are out buying your cute flowers, consider picking up some tomato, banana pepper, green pepper, or any other vegetable plant that you can find.
Last summer, I  grew edible plants for the first time and it was the best decision ever.  I can only hope that this summer will turn out just as well!
My grandmother suggested putting down lime with the tomatoes.  I also had to use stakes in the ground to keep the tomatoes off of the ground.
I didn't have any gardening space at all. So I put my peppers in the garden with my marigolds. Now, some might think it tacky, but I beheld my green pepper equally beautiful, if not more beautiful than the marigolds. Therefore, they were on display for anyone walking up to our door.
I found out after the fact that marigolds are good for keeping away pests.
I made homemade philly cheese steak with the green and banana peppers.
My mother made homemade omelets with the tomatoes.
It was just great!
Try it!
:D
